China's Huawei Technologies is setting up new plants in two Hungarian cities, benefits for Komárom and Pécs include a total of 700 new jobs. Recruitment is already in progress.

A  local business daily reported Huawei is planning to make telecom network equipment in the industrial parks of Pécs and Komárom. The giant Chinese telco company plans to hire 280 new staff in the coming year as well  as an additional 400 next year, aiming for output over USD 1 billion next year.

The Chinese investor has extensive plans in Hungary. On Tuesday, the Huawei penned an agreement with Magyar Telekom to supply system support and optical network equipment. This next generation network will allow subscribers much higher upload and download speeds.

Huawei have been in Hungary for 5 years and employs several hundred workers. The Budapest office also serves as the company's CEE commercial headquarters. Huawei Hungary has a cooperation agreement with Synergon.

The expansion of the company is assisted by the local presence of the Bank of China. The fact that Hungary has the largest Chinese community in the region was another consideration for Huawei.
