<industry>Telecom Management</industry>

Our client is a national communications company, and we are looking to recruit a number of experienced project managers to work on the delivery of complex voice and data solutions to business customers across the UK.

We have an element of flexibility on these positions regarding location, so would be interested to hear from telco / data project managers that are based in the South East of England.

The projects will be a mixture of short and long term, single and multiple projects aimed at the delivery of voice and data solutions / systems across MPLS networks.

Prince 2 accreditation would be a bonus on these roles, but it is not essential as the environment is more about the successful delivery of projects as opposed to following a strict methodology that could possibly lead to delays caused by process.

The company follow an internal project management process, which although based on Prince 2, would not follow it to the letter of the law.

This is a fast moving telecommunications environment, and as such, a key skill would be the ability to gain buy in from internal stakeholders regarding allocation of resource and delivery in accordance to the project timescales, so on this basis, you should be a strong communicator with the ability to influence and motivate colleagues.

Sales Engineering at Cisco

Cisco was founded in 1984 by a small group of computer scientists from Stanford University. Sales and marketing professionals have made the science a commercial phenomena: the company went public in 1990 (NASDAQ NM: CSCO) and revenues year in our last audited year accounts (July 2007) were $35 billion (a 18% increase on the year prior) at a net income of $9,4 billion. Cisco’s sales engineers, commercial technology experts, are the people who bridge the gap between the science or technology and our clients’ commercial objectives. They are key contributors to getting deals done.

Today the growth of national economies now closely correlates to the investment of their industries and governments on network technology: important work indeed. Cisco helped drive broadband penetration in BeNeLux to be one of the highest in Europe. For example recently via increasing cable DSL speeds from a typical 20MB to 100MB, via involvement in Fibre to Home initiatives deliver 100MB+ services direct to residential door steps, via advanced video on demand solutions, through the bundling of various IP services and so on.

The Cisco name has become synonymous with the Internet, as well as with the productivity improvements that networked business solutions provide. Life on the network is making people more informed, more efficient and more involved. This human network has not only revolutionized the way people do things, but who they are, whether it’s using e-learning to educate students far from city centres or downloading the entire Library of Congress in seconds. Our efforts in 86 countries continue to drive market dynamics, to push transitions in technology and to change the world.

It is an exciting time to work at Cisco. To consistently deliver double digit net profitability with double digit growth requires constant innovation. You can’t deliver results like ours by just doing the same thing you did last year. Cisco is a business of visionaries with a belief in what we do. We aggressively implement our own technologies. In many cases Cisco's internal solution deployments are the earliest, largest and most complex in the world.</responsibilities>
